The Scott Foundation

The Village Doctor is honored to work with real movers and shakers in Silicon Valley, wonderful and inspiring people really working to change the world. It has been my privilege to highlight some of these individuals here in The Village Square, and this month is no exception. I am delighted to introduce and encourage you to learn more about The Scott Foundation, based in Los Gatos, California. Founded in 2014 by Shannon and Kevin, who I am proud to call friends, The Scott Foundation aspires to empower Bay Area children to achieve their personal best. By focusing on educational equity & early childhood education; girls, women and diversity in STEM; hunger relief; social entrepreneurship; and social impact, The Scott Foundation believes that it can create opportunities for all children to achieve self-sufficiency and lifelong success. President Shannon Hunt-Scott takes a hands-on, highly engaged approach to grantmaking. Organizations collaborating with The Scott Foundation receive much more than funding–they receive additional connections and support from the president who truly believes in the causes that are funded. To date, the foundation has gifted over $3 million dollars to local nonprofit organizations. Watch this compelling video about The Scott Foundation’s work with the Second Harvest Food Bank.
